Hi Suz and Genie.

My Lucy was born in the district of Holbeach, Lincolnshire. To be exact she wass born at 5.30 a.m. on 30th October 1892 in the village of Sutton St James. On the birth certificate her father is shown as Watson Bowers a farm labourer.
Lucy Bowers then became Lucy Maycock when she married William in 1916 at Huntingdon, and after his death inj 1940 she married a Arthur Fox in Downham during 1948.
Lucy did have a twin brother, Fred, and came from a large family.  What I wonder now is were there any children from her marriage with either of these gentlemen ?

It's doubtful Lucy had children with Arthur Fox as she would be c. 56 years of age when she married him

there are several birth registrations Maycock -mother's maiden name Bowers

but there is a marriage reg 1922 in Bicester reg didt for Jesse F Maycock and Emily E Bowers -and as most of the birth regs are 1923 onwards =-and most of them registered Bicester then maybe Lucy didn't have children

Thanks Keyboard thats a great help.  This site is quite fantastic for tracing lost family members !
With regard to her first marraige, Genie, I had already got that on my family tree.  I then lost trace of them after the marriage and only recently discovered that William Maycock died in Huntingdon during 1940.  Thanks everone

Tibby

The William Maycock who died Hunts in 1940 -according to probate records left a widow names Eliza Ann -and there was a Charles Vixctor Maycock mentioned too???

Might you have an incorrect death reg???

Hi Tibby,

in 1911 there's a Lucy Bowers, 18, b. Wolston, Warwickshire who was working in Coventry for a Charles James Fox who was from Norfolk  :-\

Meanwhile, Wm Maycock was living with his wife, Eliza and their 7 children, age ranges (14- 6mths).

In 1901, this same Lucy was living with her widowed mother in Wolston. RG13/2914/42/14

genie  :)

Wonder if this William maycock living with wife Eliza is the one who died 1940??

Probate
William maycock of Benwick Rd Ramsey Hunts
died 11 Feb 1940
Admin Peterborough 29 Mar to Eliza Ann Maycock widow  & Charles Victor Maycocck , smallholder
Effects £1594 14s 11

(it looks like Eliza Ann Maycock died 1951 Hunts ???)

I agree with suzard.
The probate record rules out the Wm. Maycock b. 1867, d., Hunt's, 1940, age 73.
He was the one who was married to Eliza Bull in 1896 and
they did have a son, Charles Victor.
