Lucy Fox
« on: Sunday 26 June 11 21:07 BST (UK) »
I am  trying to find information on Lucy Fox who moved to Downham when she married in 1948. IO do not have any other information apart from her death in 1969 when she was aged 77.

Was Fox her maiden name or if it was her married name, do you know who she married?

Hi Genie and Suz, thanks for your rapid response.  I don't know who she married, but I have now found out the ref which is Oct/Nov/Dec Downham 4b 859, so I shall be able to get a copy of the marriage certificate.  This was a second marriage, her first husband William Maycock died in Huntingdon, 1940.

Thanks Keyboard thats a great help.  This site is quite fantastic for tracing lost family members !
With regard to her first marraige, Genie, I had already got that on my family tree.  I then lost trace of them after the marriage and only recently discovered that William Maycock died in Huntingdon during 1940.  Thanks everone

Hi Tibby,

in 1911 there's a Lucy Bowers, 18, b. Wolston, Warwickshire who was working in Coventry for a Charles James Fox who was from Norfolk  :-\

Meanwhile, Wm Maycock was living with his wife, Eliza and their 7 children, age ranges (14- 6mths).

In 1901, this same Lucy was living with her widowed mother in Wolston. RG13/2914/42/14

the Lucy Bowers b Wolston Warwicks had the middle name Louisa and her birth was reg Sept qtr 1892

Lucy's death reg gives birth as 13 Oct 1892

I can only find a plain Lucy Bowers irth reg Dec qtr 1892 Holbeach 7a 384

If this is the correct Lucy then she had a twin brother Fred/

Do let us know who the marriage cert gives as father
