Kate HAWKINS, Clerkenwell. Actress or seamstress
« on: Sunday 26 June 11 18:54 BST (UK) »
Kate Hawkins was born in Holborn in 1876.  On the 1911 Census it states she worked as a Druggist Assistant.  However, information passed down through the family said she had some connection with the theatre.  I don't think she was an actress, maybe a seamstress making the costumes.  Where could I check this out?  Also it is said she was a model for a shampoo advertisement.  I would like to find out if any of this information is true.

Any help would be appreciated.

1901 she was a druggists assistant -living with her family -they had a lodger who was a Milliner

1891 She was a Book Folder (they had a lodger who was a Druggists Sundryman

No sign of a theatrical /dressmaking connection???? With Kate or her family

Thank you Suz for your reply.  I have all the census records for her and even know the connection to the lodgers.  Now I'm wondering if her connection to the theatre was only a hobby or possibly a way to earn extra money.  I was hoping there might be records of those people working both on stage and behind the scenes in the theatre.  Thanks again for your help.
