Sarah HILL was a witness at 2 weddings in Tasmania
1. 19 Jan
1857 St Joseph's
RC Launceston (bride Mary HILL, age 25,had arrived 1 Feb 1854 per 'Sir Alan McNab' age 18 NP
Co Clare - yes discrepancy in age; groom James Bernard ATKINSON aka James BREE)
2. 9 April
1861 St Joseph's
RC Launceston (bride Julia HILL age 25, arrived 27 Jan 1857 per 'Great Tasmania' on application of Mary HILL, NP
Co Clare, with Anne HILL)
She is also said to be the godmother of Sarah CULLEN, daughter of Anne HILL, who was born in Launceston 7 July 1858 (this is on a tree on r*web; a very kind person looked at the baptism records in Hobart but was unable to locate this despite having looked at the correct reels)
I have looked at marriages and deaths for a Sarah Hill
after 1861, marriages of ___HILL to Sarah ____
before 1857, arrivals and so on, but nothing seems to make sense.
I had thought that she would be the sister of Mary, Julia and Anne, or possibly their mother or cousin? or even completely unrelated....

I have also checked through all the births of the children of Mary Julia and Anne, but they were all registered by one or other parent.
just to summarise so people don't waste their time looking at things (but bearing in mind I may have dismissed something that I shouldn''t have!!)
marriages
HILL 1867 to Arnold Aneswearth - this is the 2nd mariage of Sarah HILL nee BALE
HILLS 1870 to William BAIN Lau. age 19 born ~1850 seems too young
HALL 1872 to John DONELLY full age, dealer's widow; Primitive Methodist
William HILL to Sarah SMITH 1852 United Church of ENg and Ireland
deaths
1864 age 64 born England
1869 age 76 born England
1869 age 26 farmers daughter - seems too young
any ideas on where to go from here greatly appreciated
oh yes, forgot to say, I don't know the parents of Mary, Julia and Anne or their village of origin in Clare- rcently got the 1911 death cert for Julia (O'Loughlin) and place of birth states
Ireland..aarrgghh!! the only thing that I recently came across was that the will of Julia's husband Martin has Michael BREEN of Karoola(Tas) as one of the executors, and he was on the 'Great Tasmania' with his family and the HILL sisters - ??connection
regards
Lou
