Hello - can anyone help decipher this census occupation please?
It's Ann King, aged 24, living at Saltisford, Warwick St Mary, Warwickshire. Can't see the folio number on the image, but the rest of the reference is HO107/2073/?/31
Kelly, Birkenhead & Co. Kildare
Marshall, Luton & area
Reid, Co. Kildare & Dublin
Cox, Barnack Northamptonshire
Edwards, Pagham, Sussex & area
Scott, Roxburghshire & Perthshire

I take it that it's the second line you're having trouble with?
I'm having trouble finding Ann on the 1851 census(to check occupation) ...
Who is she living with?

Yes, I had a few problems too.
She is indexed as Ann King
s
.
I think it says 'Goes out cleaning'.

I think you're right.
I've never seen that before.
Now I see, also in Warwickshire, an Ann KING 74 "Goes Washing"
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Thanks all - "Goes out cleaning" is certainly a plausible thing for her to do. Odd way of recording it for a census, but looks right!
Many thanks all.

Could the bottom line possibly read "Boatman", even though we are talking about a woman here, or are we just trying to read the middle line?

Sorry GillG - I should have said it was just the middle line - I only included the lines above and below to give some context for the style of writing.
Koromo - I think you're right, it is charing. "Goes out Charing" it is then. Very similar in meaning to "Goes out Cleaning" of course.
Thanks all!
