glasgow cemeteries
« on: Sunday 19 June 11 15:39 BST (UK) »
hello everyone,
my aunt died aged just 22 months on 2/4/1920.
Her name was Thomasina Capperauld Hendrie.
The place of death given on the death certificate was 24 Rutland Crescent Glasgow.(Her Grandparents home)
I know that Rutland Crescent was off Paisley Road West, (I think it may have been under Pollockshields)
Can anybody tell me where the nearest cemetery would have been.
Also, I am not from Glasgow, so where is the best place to get lair numbers from.

Hope you guys can help.
Cheers Wee Vee

From Glasgow Council who will do a search at a considerable cost

There are two cemeteries nearby, Cardonald Cemetery off of Mosspark Boulevard and Craigton off of Berryknowes Road. Craigton is also a crematorium.
Unfortunately until a few years ago Craigton was run by a private company and Glasgow Council may not have all of the records.

As said Glasgow council charge an extremely high fee for any search

Just remembered, if you can get to an LDS family history centre they may be able to assist as the LDS microfilmed the records for a number of cemeteries in the Glasgow area. You used to be able to find which records they held on their old website but I cannot see any of the old libraries on the familysearch new style page
