Hi moorlands,

Welcome to RootsChat

RootsChat is meant for finding ancestors, rather than living relatives.  It was unclear from your post whether or not these people are or possibly are still living.  Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

There are a number of sites that can help you find current US addresses and phone numbers, such as www.switchboard.com or www.whitepages.com

If these people may be deceased and you have some idea of when they were born, the Social Security Death Index or the California death index (covering 1940-1997) at www.rootsweb.com may be helpful to you.

Hi moorlands, I see that you edited your post to reflect that the people are deceased.  If you can give us as much information as possible about them - approximate dates and places of birth and death, occupations, other relatives, etc. - that may help us to find out more about them.

As you may already know, the US Census is currently only available up to 1930 and the 1940 Census will be out next April, so we'll have to see if other information can be found.

William Pritchard was born round about 1868 in llanharry south wales. They move to America 1875. Cannot find them until 1930-1960 when they are living in Long Beach California. He also has a daughter living next door to himcalled Mary Ann Cox. He also has a daughter Alice Wilson living in Boyne City Michigan.  That all I know about these people

Thanks Moorlands

Hi Moorlands,

Guessing because we have no date of birth for Mary Ann Pritchard/Cox but this could be a possibility  ???

Last Residence:   90802  Long Beach, Los Angeles, California.
SSN was issued in California (1967)

A few questions...

Considering William's age in 1875, I presume he immigrated with someone or was sent to live with relatives?  Do you have names of those people?  Do you have William's mother's maiden name?

What was William's wife's name?  Were the two of them definitely still living as of 1960?  Do you have a specific address for them from that time?

Looking at the information on google of the original request - the address given was 1020 East second street. Apartment 5. Long beach. California USA 90802.
So the zip code for Mary Ann Cox in reply 5 looks correct  ???
There is also a US Public record Index showing William J Pritchard at
address: 1020 E 2nd St, Long Beach, CA, 90802-5504 1993 - 1996. Could this be another relative of the original William born 1868  ???
