Does your Francis Duffin have a brother  Roger H Duffin?  If so,  your 3x GGrandfather is my 2x Great Uncle.  Would like to confirm they are related.  Thank you

A few people think Rodger is the brother of Francis but have never been able to offer evidence for this. Duffin is not a common name so I expect they are related in some way but without proof I would not claim they were brothers

My ggg grandfather was Neil Duffin from Antrim. My ancestry.com  DNA profile strongly  hints  that Roger Duffin (ca 1806) and Neil (born in Antrim some time in the early 1800's.)were brothers, but I can not find this anywhere. Anyone have information on Neil Duffin??

Hi ,  My GGG grandmother was Mary Duffin, b c 1817 in Antrim(not sure exactly where). She married john McDonnell( b c1809) in St Mary's RC church Glenravel, I think around 1842. They had around 9 children ranging from Margaret b c 1843, Eanos, b c1845, Hugh b c 1847, John b c1849,ann b c1851, Randle b c1853, Mary b c1855 ,all born in Ireland and Sarah b c1857 , Alexander bc 1861 , in Glasgow. So they must have moved from Antrim to Glasgow between 1855 and 1857.
On 1851 census, found family living in Dunaghy (Antrim), town Lisnamanny. Father John was a farmer.   Would any of this fall into your family tree. ?

Very disappointed to say I have not come across any of these names. However, Duffin is not particularly common. It is possible that Mary may be a sister or a cousin to my Francis. Unfortunately the births are too early for the Catholic Church Records and the marriage record only gives the names for witnesses, not parents. My family appear to have lived in Knockanully and Brae. You could perhaps look at these townlands to see if you came find McDonnells there which would strengthen a case for being closely related. I too will look into this.

Moses Paul married Sarah McAuley, Cruckanully, in Nov. 1836 in Glenravel & Braid R. Catholic Church. Witnesses were James Duffin and Mary McAuley.

The 1831 Tithe Applotment records show a John and Roger Duffin in Cruckanully, Henry Duffin in Gortnageeragh, Manus Duffin in Elgany, and two different Henry Walsh's in Elgany as well (now called Elginny).

Yes, Cruckanully/Crockanully/Knockanully are all the same townland.
