Hi-I am the 3x Great Granddaughter of Thomas' brother Paul Spencer born Wicklow 1810 who came to Australia in 1838 on the Fairlie. He came with his wife Frances Catherine Smith born Kings Ireland daughter of Joshua Smith and Ann Thompson. It states on the arrival papers that Paul's parents are Thomas Spencer and his wife Esther Loughran(or Loughnan) of Wicklow. It also says Thomas was a farmer.
