Blandford in Market Drayton

William ( 1851-1911)& Eliza (1854-1934 maiden Ellis )Blandford lived in Market Drayton Shropshire. They had 22 children of which 11 died in infancy. Their daughter Rose ( born 1878 )married ? and went to live in America.

Does anyone know of her family in America ,

Hi it appears that Rose married either a Seth Wood or John Clewes in March 1906 Mt Drayton 6a 1069.

If you have the 1911 Census, or purchase sufficient credits you should be able to narrow down which of the gentleman she married?

Looks as though Rose married Seth Wood. By 1911 they had a daughter Edith Rose born c1910. Seth arrived in usa 31.7.1911 aboard the vessel "Celtic". The following year Rose, Edith Rose and Ethel their 2nd daughter arrived 18.5.1912 aboard the Celtic. They appear on 1920 usa in New Bedford Ward 6 Bristol Massachusetts and 1930 census as a family in Pawtucket Providence Rhode Island. I would suggest if you want to take them further do a posting on usa roots board, our pals there will be able to help further.

It looks like Seth`s parents were  Thomas & Margery Wood in Lancashire. There`s a wrong transcript error for Seth ( Leath Wood ) in the 1891 census & Margery`s age 39 not 59

Seth & Rose are listed in the 1935 Rhode Island census on www.familysearch.org.  It gives Rose's date of birth as 31 Dec. 1877 in England.

Seth's WWII draft registration card, which mentions Rose, appears to be here:  http://www.rootschat.com/links/0e9c/

The 1952 Pawtucket, Rhode Island city directory says that Rose (Mrs. Seth) Wood died 29 Jun. 1951.  The latest Pawtucket city directory entry that I see for Seth was 1949.
