Scranton PA
« on: Wednesday 15 June 11 16:10 BST (UK) »
This  notice is in the Wrexham Advertiser ( North Wales )
June 14, 1874 Marrriage.
Hughes-Ellis:
In Scranton, Pa. America, John A. Hughes of Brymbo, near Wrexham to
Katherine, eldest daughter of the Rev. H. Ellis of Llangwm, Corwen,
both of North Wales

Can anyone find a record of  the marriage , or find Catherine in the 1871 census, the couple  came back to Wales soon after  as a child was born in Wrexham later that year 1874.

I can`t find Catherine / Katherine  Ellis in Wales in 1871 so presume she may be in US. She was born b 1844.
There is some confusion about John Hughes and his place of birth.
He was born 1850, but seems to be still in Wales in 1871.

Thanks.
