FELLOWS of Dudley
« on: Saturday 11 June 11 17:13 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information of Joseph Fellows born 1851 in Dudley. I am trying to trace his parents and sibling. He marries a lady called Fanny Lewis b 1854 in Dudley. It would also like to know who her parents are also. His second wife is Charlotte Gladdingb 1863 in Dudley. Again I would like to be able to trace her parents. Any infor would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance M x

Hi angel

I don't have Joseph Fellows (though I have father and son called Joseph Fellows Hartland, who perhaps may be related: Fellows was the maiden name of the gmother/ggmother and was used as a 'middle' name for some generations) - but before you get confused:  you will find in the registers of St Peter Wolverhampton, (and the GRO indices)  the marriage of Joseph Fellows to Ann Burgess on 0n 3 November 1851.   The groom's name is not correct: this is in fact the marriage of Joseph Fellows Hartland senior.

Hi KGarrad,

Thank you for the information I have him married to Fanny Lewis in Dudley 1875 and their first Child John down as born 1873 and 1888 in Dudley to Charlotte Gladding. Your marriage looks more likely than the one I have thank you. Thank you also for the details of Josephs parents and siblings.

I dismissed that marriage because there is a Joseph Fellows in Walsall in 1871, living at home with mother Sarah?!

Having trouble locating Charlotte Gladding in 1871 census.

Think you might need to get the marriage certificate, or her birth certificate to get father's name.

Birth is March qtr 1862
Dudley district    Vol 6c, Page 145
Gladding, Charlotte
