1/4 Ox&Bucks group photo.
« on: Saturday 11 June 11 15:02 BST (UK) »
My Grandfather, seated far left, was in the 1/4 battalion of the Ox&Bucks L I which was part of 145th Brigade, His name was Reginald Harris service number 5484 and was wounded at some point as he was awarded the silver war badge, the date of attestation was 22 Nov 1915 aged 25 and was discharged on the 13 Jan 1919 with the service number 202034 as a Sgt, as I have no service record for him, but would like to know when he was wounded, any help would be gratefull

Hi
Try directing your query to here - they really are very good at helping out;

Soldiers of Oxfordshire = www.sofo.org.uk

Your man is listed on their database and they will do a detailed search for which they do charge a small fee.

Sorry Nigel
He was born in Oxford, St Peter in the East, I have looked for his service record but cannot find it, I think it was distroyed during WW2, I was told he was wounded in the arm, and was given the SWB but I dont know when or where, I will check on the SOFO site later
many thanks

Oh Ok.
I found a record of some one who very nearly fits - never mind. As you say it could be his documents were amongst the burnt papers then.
Do try the Soldiers of Oxfordshire site and make an enquiry of them I bet they will be able to help you
