Please could someone look up this marriage for me? I would like all details of Hugh Hughes, and witnesses' names if possible.

I have a problem with Hugh Hughes b 1844 Runcorn Mariner. Only one Hugh Hughes s/o Reese and Elizabeth, registered, and baptised and died (1911). Reece (Rice)  born c 1816 did have a younger brother Hugh born c 1820.
I'm pretty sure Hugh b 1844 is double entered in 2 censuses first 1851, with his mother Elizabeth Rogers, formerly Hughes maiden name Dutton) and stepfather, and round the corner with his uncle Joseph Ormison (witness to his mother's first marriage in 1837) missing in 1881 and double entered again in 1901, on a dredger Barry and at home with wife Ellen Ravenscroft (m 1866, bachelor aged 22). I need to know who is the Hugh, son of John, who married Ellen Williams in 1858.

has Hugh born 1821 (40 yrs) Anglesey married to Ellen b 1839 (22 yrs) Runcorn.
Ellen's details fit Ellen Williams in 1851.

This Hugh is a clerk in a Canal Office.

it eliminates him from my enquiries, I think. The Hughes family of three brothers, Rice, Robert and Hugh and sister Ann I'm trying to track down seem to have been born in Liverpool. Hey Ho...

has these people together in Runcorn which would look as though Hugh who marries Ellen in 1858 is the brother of Rice, Robert and Ann.

That's why I want someone with access to the microfilms or transcripts to look at his occupation and also their wirnesses in case a sibling or someone I can link to them turns up for me! Rice died in 1849, of cholera, so he won't.

continued; re Rice, Hugh Robert, Ann Hughes: But  I know that Robert was born in Liverpool, (1861 census on a boat with nephew Hugh, s/o Rice). Since 1841 census has them all born out of Cheshire, I'm supposing (dangerous, I know) that they were all born in Liverpool.

I can see Hugh in 1861 on a boat and a Robert b Liverpool who is a master on a boat but they are not together
