Grzegorz (Gregory) TIMOFIEJEW - Poland

Grzegorz (Gregory) Timofiew was my Grandmother's cousin. He was born 11/3/1908 in Lodz, Poland and died 3/10/1962 also in Lodz. He was a poet and was a prisoner in KZ Mauthausen Guzen. (It's a sad story.)

He had a sister Natalia (who was my godmother). His parents, I believe were, were Wasyl and Marta nee SUSLOW (no idea if this is spelled correctly). His grandparents were Ivan Volodomir and Natalia nee SHEREMETEV (variations on the spelling exist) and great grandparents were Alexei and Nina HARABENKO (again not sure if spelling is correct.)

I am desperatly trying to verify his parents and G. grandparents and trace the Sherimetev line but with no success.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm     27 trees for Sheremitev on www.geneanet.org ....but NONE in Poland ...Russian Federation has most entries...
no results for any of the other surnames

Those on that website mainly relate to the "royals" and I can't find the link to the Timofiews, but thanks for taking the trouble to look.

A quick search on MyHeritage.com gets loads of Polish hits. The trouble with this site is people start trees and then don't go back to the site, but you may be lucky. My wife's family comes form Poland and there are a lot of Polish trees on the site compared to Ancestry etc. I found my wife's grandfather in a tree and found someone had uploaded some of my wedding photos from 40 years ago. I thought to myself, I recognize him.......... just!
