Nothing on Headstone index

Robert WATT died Dunfermline 1877 aged 35
wife Elizabeth MUIR

no headstone on index can't find any of the children on 1881 census
who did Elizabeth Muir remarry after Roberts death?
there is a James born Dunfermline & a David Watt in an orphan hospital Edinburgh.

Hi Norrie

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

I think you've got the correct children there in Edinburgh.
Elizabeth MUIR died prior to Robert in 1877 and they did have sons James born 1870 & David born 1871.

Address on the death certificates of James WATT & Margaret WATT/HUNTER was Knabbie St, Dunfermline
Address on the death certificate of Robert WATT was South Inglis St, Dunfermline

Further information on the family can be found here:
http://mowatfamilyhistory.ca/2159.htm (not my site).

I think James & Margaret were in the 1861 census at Inverkeithing as Toll collectors (with children James & Catherine) and in the 1851 census at Burntisland.
In 1871 Robert & Elizabeth with sons James & David were at Reform St Dunfermline.

If not at Dunfermline I wonder if James & Margaret may have been buried at Inverkeithing? I would be interested if you have any ideas on where I could look next.

Many thanks
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca  not ruling Lays road I was only saying that I have no record

Of a headstone for your Watts there,  If I was to take a chance on where they
Are buried it would be Lays road.
With all the deaths in such a short period could they really afford a stone.

Hi Norrie

Thanks for the clarification.
Agree that finding a headstone was always going to be optimistic.

I'd not realized the significance of that Lair information on that site - certainly pays to have someone who knows what they are doing to take a look!

Many thanks
Rebecca
