« on: Wednesday 08 June 11 06:07 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am giving this a go wanting to find the right Samuel Chestnut. Where in Ireland he was born? I believe he was born around 1843 and married Georgina Mitchell over in Scotland. All my Irish side are so hard to find, like Cahill. I hope there is someone who can help.

Robert

Hi,
The Familysearch site gives a Samuel Chestnut but only gives his birth as Ireland in 1843. He died in 1912 in West Ham, Essex. It lists his parents as John Chestnut and Mary Steel.

Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry
Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

According to LDS database, marriage was 20 July 1866 Greenock (births of children Thomas and Mary also shown). According to 1881 census they were in West Ham, Essex with children born Scotland and Liverpool (LDS also gives birth of Georgina 1879 Liverpool). There also a brother of Samuel's in the household.
LDS site must be acting up at the moment as I can't find the 1912 or parents' names.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
