Welcome to Rootschat. If you need help tracing your family please give us more details and let us know exactly what you are looking for- but remember this isn't a forum for tracing living people and you arebn' allowed to post details of anyone who may still be living.

The latest available Irish is 1911. There's only 1 person with the surname GYLE in Carrickfergus area-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Carrickfergus_Urban/Albert_Road/293839
she's on her own in 1901-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Carrickfergus/Cork_Hill/992510

Only possible match for John I see in 1911 is a Jack Gyle age 11 but he and father both born in Belfast-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Down/Pottinger__part_of_/Madrid_Street/219177
and the family in 1901-

What you need to do is get the marriage certificate (if you don't already have it)- should show fathers' names and occupations (at least in his case although hopefully hers as well).

I did a free search in Emerald Ancestors database and found 1 marriage for a John Gyle 1921 Co. Antrim to Mabel ? .
Unfortunately when I checked and cross-referenced the civil registration index I got the following-
John GYLE Apr./June 1921 Belfast registration district volume 1 page 339
Mabel McCOY same page.
