Stepney/Limehouse Marriage 1821
« on: Monday 06 June 11 10:15 BST (UK) »
I have a marriage between Edward Collett and a Mary Anne Anderson in St Anne, Limehouse in October 1821. Will the parish records or transcripts reveal anything more about a marriage in 1821 as I am stuck finding Edwards parents. I think there was a witness called Margaret Sarah Collett.  I cannot trace Edward as for some reason Mary Anne and their four children are without Edward in the 1841 census and thereafter, Mary Anne remarries in 1846
The only trail I have is that they are in South Shields in 1823 and have their first child there and then 10 years later are living in St Pancras and have 3 children their (1933/1835/1840).

I have seen some soft clues suggesting an Edward Collitt baptised 1797 in Whitechapel to parents Richard Collitt and Mary

Hi Suz

So you reckon it is Thos Harrison?

I've been trying to fit Roland Richard  ???

If you can see the original is his middle initial "C" or is that a smudge?

It could be Richd - think the little"c" may just be a mark -but the handwriting is a little "scrawly" so it could be anything

There is a baptism
Margaret Sarah Collett
daughter of Stephen and Mary Collett
14 July 1800
St Botolph Bishopsgate

Well when I first saw it  thought Reverend as this was often written  Rev followed by superscript d. What the squiggle in the middle is who knows.

Will the original parish record show anythig more than this transcript?
Otherwise I do not have the connection to which Edward Collet birth now Ray has offered a 1794 Aldgate one, as well as the 1797 one I already had and 1841 census suggests there might be an 1801 one as well.

Suz thanks for the extra baptism, another part of the jigsaw, at 1800 birth suggests she may be a sister
