I've not received the form yet either although I was accepted some weeks ago.

According to the calendar at the end of the updated handbook, the course starts 28 October?

Cati, we'll keep you updated if we get time  ;D ;) ::)

I've just been back on to the application website and the latest application status on the progress page says 17 August - rolled forward to registrations.

So presumably something will happen soon!

Hi Kerry

Hmm,  in my acceptance letter, it gives the start date as 23rd Sept - but looks like you're correct as the new timetables for 2011-12 are, as you say, now available and they show a 28 Oct start date:

http://www.strath.ac.uk/media/ps/cll/cpd/docs/PG_Genealogy_Timetables_2011-12.pdf

That's a shame... so much longer to wait. Ah well. :-)

I also read (via Chris Paton) that the Course Director, Dr Bruce Durie, won't be on the course next year as he's moving on - bit of a shame that as I liked his book very much and, of course, he was responsible for kick-starting the course originally.

Yeah, on registration, I checked today also and found out they are still waiting for one of my referees to get back... so quickly emailed him. :-P

Hi Skye 12.

Like your name. :-) Some of my family roots are from the Isle of Skye (Duisdalemore and Camuscross).

Are you going to be on the course? I finalised my registration today. Still looking forward to getting started.

How about Kerry and Murray - how are you guys getting on? Been reading all those books yet? LOL I found a nice podcast on the NAS site about wills in Scotland by Bruce Durie - it was very good. He has quite a sense of humour. Gave me a few ideas for searching early records. They have some other interesting podcasts as well... although some do go a tad slowly. ;-P

No not doing the course now. I have all the books though ... might sell them?

Hi Skye12

I think I have most of the books now... but you might find someone else on here that would like them. Even someone who's not doing the course might like them. Another way you can sell them is through Amazon. I did that with some of my old course books on a previous course. It was quite simple.

Did you finish the course already or just change your mind about doing it?

Hi Mcwacky

Sent my registration off last Friday, really looking forward to receiving my ID with my awful photo on it!

Haven't started reading any of the books yet, too busy getting back to my family research while I have chance. LOL  Can't wait to get started!

Hi Everyone.

I'm also doing this course and looking forward to it.  I'm sending my paperwork tomorrow.

Have I got it right the course is totally online.  We don't need to go into Glasgow twice a month.  I don't know where I got that from...

I have the date of the 28th Oct...  I'm not that well organised which is freaking me out. :o I have 3 books and have had a look at them.  Has anyone got anymore info cos I think Claire might be feed up emailing me.

Thanks
Gayle
