Harton Cemetery
« on: Saturday 04 June 11 21:52 BST (UK) »
Hello member,

While I was in South Shields last year I was searching for my Grandmother where she lived etc.

I found the following information:
Dolina Hendry Marshall
died: 09 Sep 1953-aged 80yrs
169 Martin Lane, South Shields, England

I was told by someone in the Library that my grandmother would have been buried at the Harton Cemetery:
St George Avenue, South Shields, Tyne and Wear. NE 36 0PW

I did not have time to follow this up.....I am wondering how I can find out more information and where abouts she is buried.

Any ideas?

Any information would be appreciated.

Isabel

Isabel, there is a web site called Communigate,This is the North East ,try googling Harton cemetery  in your search box and see if you can access this site, some very kind people have been indexting all the MI, even if your relative did not have  a gravestone you may find it interesting,

I have used the CommuniGate website, it's brilliant- have had a few details sent to me about family graves by the helpful man who runs it.
Suffolk: Partridge, Prince.
Durham: Peart, Weetman, Straughan.
Northumberland: Charlton, Percival, Allison.
Cornwall: Olver

Isn't he,
he sent me details to and when I managed to actually visit the cemetery ,the  groundsmen were very helpfull and helped me actually measure out the exact spot of an unmarked grave, some thing I could have only guessed at,
So pleased you got a result,
