Eva Lillian Hummel
« on: Friday 03 June 11 10:32 BST (UK) »
born Aug 1889, Middlesex, parents David Magnus Hummel and Mary Matilda Warren.  Both parents died when Eva a toddler and left in care of grandparents David Hummel and Alida Hummel.  Eva appears in Swedish census aged 11 1900 in Stockholm living with her grandmother.  I am having trouble finding her after this date in England or Sweden.  Her grandfater died 1890 and grandmother 1908.  Any help locating her after 1900 in a census or marriage would be greatly appreciated.  Kind regards.

I don't know if you have this:

Baptism St James Gunnersbury

20th Aug 1889 Eva Lilian, parents David & Mary Matilda Hummel, of 2 St Mary's grove Chiswick, Timber Merchant.

There's also a letter of administration granted 25 April 1890 to his father, value £2134 15s 10d

I can't find any evidence of her being back in England as a Hummel.

Have you followed her mother's line forward to see if she turns up with them as a Warren?

Or is she with other members of the Hummel family in Sweden. Is she with her grandmothers family, you don't mention her surname.

Thanks very much Dawn

Her grandmothers maiden name was Brattberg, and I had not considered this option but have done some research with this family also and not come across her with them in Sweden, but will have another look.  There is a Eva Lillan Warren buried in Sweden but this person was married to a Warren and born much later, but I found this to be very coincidental.  She could have gone any where, but I am in Sweden in a few weeks so will see what else I can find out.

Hi Svensken

thanks very much for replying

She is my 1st cousin three x removed.  I am doing my tree and her grandfather David Hummel is my third  great grandfather.  I was curious to find out what became of her after her parents died when she was young and she went to live with her grand parents David and Alida in Sweden, but they both died by the time Eva was 10.   I am struggling to find out if she stayed in Sweden or went back to England, and if she stayed with family or was adopted out.  Hoping you can help me.  if you wish to keep this private my email is (*)

Kind regards from down under

Hi bigcous,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Lillian (Eva) was the mother of my grandmother, and she did stay in Sweden. If it is ok for you, it would be great if we could exchange some more information in private. My family members are all very curious to find out if you may have more details about Lillians mother and family. Of course we can provide you with more information about her life in Sweden.

Could you please send your e-mail adress again through tbe personal message system?

Best regards from Sweden

This seems to be an old thread...
I found that Eva Lillian Hummel was married to Carl Rudolf Emil von Mühlenfels and died on the 5th of Jan 1970 in Klippan, Skċne, Sweden.
I have lost the tree on her mothers side though... Mary Matilda Warren who died the same year Eve Lillian was born.  His name should be William Charles Warren but I can't find him anymore on either Ancestry or MyHeritage.  Hie had died before Eva Lillian was born... meaning Before 1889
