Thankyou   8) knew I would find some info in the Auckland Star, have spent a few hours there already and let another grateful friend know last week as well. Noticed the NZ Herald ran an item over Queen's Birthday weekend, picking out the topic of the wet weather over same weekend in past   :D .... also this morning, just in the last 1/4 hr, Breakfast TV1 mentioned it in the local reporter roundup. Traffic may be a bit heavier on the site as a result  :) mare

We did notice a bit of a stampede hitting our servers yesterday :-) Mr Rudman's article was awesome!

I was part of the stampede for a while myself  :D ... when I lost my connection for a while I did wonder if it was just me or too much for the server on a damp holiday Monday, turned out things just needed a boot here

::)   took a while for me to hunt for the Herald article on line, save someone else the trouble  :)

I am taking the lazy approach here as I have not looked for them specifically but is there any of the Northland Papers? ie Wairoa Bell, or North Auckland Times? I know that the Dargaville museum hold hard copies of the latter.

Hi Alan,

these are the Northland papers

New Zealand Advertiser and Bay of Islands Gazette (Northland, 1840)
Northern Advocate (Northland, 1887-1906)

Cheers Janette

I would be interested in these papers as well, as my mother's family all came from the Nelson, Marlborough area. :)

percy porter: Would you like me to note those two titles as "requested" for our next papers past selection meeting?

Jericho: Excellent, I'll count that as a +1 :)
