Hi Althea -  you are so right, I found my father reported missing in action, then his finding and report that he was a POW and finally his homecoming  - a day I well remember as a six year old.

Just found a birth from a relaitve we believed did not have any children. It is full of surprises. Still more to come.

Hi everyone, just a quick note to let you all know I'll be going on parental leave for one year starting Monday 6 September.  But don't worry - I have been replaced!   The new Papers Past manager will be my colleague Emerson Vandy, and he will take over this PapersPast account in my absence. 

Some of you may have noticed that not all issues of the Otago Daily Times (1861-1900) that we hoped to add to Papers Past in the latest release have made it onto the site.  We have had some technical difficulties adding the issues from years 1883-1898 and 1900.  We hope to have them available early next week.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
