I am researching Gilhooly/Gilhooley with a tie to W.Cork.There is a small group in the Bantry area in the mid 1800's. I mention this incase you didn't already know some parishes fall into both counties. Also, the name O'Brien is in the area as well. Have you checked out irishgenealogy.ie? They have records for West and South Cork.

You're  welcome. Actually, the name Gilhooley/Gilhooly has its roots in Leitrim with strong presence in Roscommon and Slingo. Though, there are smaller groups as well as I found in Cork, I had heard of the one in Limerick and I came across some information on one in Tipperary another county you may want to check out. I know that connorsgenealogy.com (maybe net or org) the guy who runs it has Gihooley family there. I know this site is by ifhf and you can try rootsireland.ie and run a search to find out how many records they have for Gilhooly/Gilhooley, I think you can still dwindle it down to county without having to buy credits ( new format is ridiculous!). Do have Bridget's birth record or the marriage certificate? If you find it and want a retrival I recommend going through recordsreland.ie, they're have always been very helpful, they're accredited genealogists in Ireland and one of the cheaper sites for records retrival.

Good luck, Danielle
