I think this could be the death reg of Christopher Davey, John's Dad. Remember he knocked some years off his age so that would account for the date of birth being a few years out. Christopher Davey Redruth age 57 vol 5c page 147.

There was a death registration for a Richard James Davey in 1937 in Queensland aged 70 born in Cornwall wonder if he was a brother as well!  Qld Reg 1937 C1089.
