Where is this place near Creetown? I can't find any maps of it, but I would like to know about it because my 6g grandfather Alexander Hughan was Laird of this place.
Thanks

Bagbie is a small tenant farm on the Kirkdale estate, just outside the village of Carsluith (near Creetown). I can'y imagine a laird living there. There are quarries nearby, one of them is Bagbie quarry.
Kirkcudbrightshire : McMurray/ie, Haining, Hanning, McAdam, McClune.
Ayrshire: Livingstone
East Lothian: Anderson

Thanks. Alexander Hughan was part of a well-to-do family, he may simply have called himself Laird
