Catholic Burials 1857

Can anybody help me with this one please?

I am trying to find where a child who was Roman Catholic would most likely be buried in 1857.
It is 95% certain that he died in Hulme (or less likely Ardwick).
The child was baptised at St. Wilfrid's in Hulme and the family were very devoutly Catholic.

I've checked the online burial record that Manchester holds and cannot find him there.

His name was JAMES ALEXANDER PEACOCK and he was born in the July Quarter of 1850.
He died in the October Quarter of 1857.

His parents were James and Matilda Peacock.

Any help will be verymuch appreciated.

I see that the Ardwick records are held at the Central Library but what about the other cemetery - any idea where the records for it are held? And which is the most likely option for a very Catholic family?

Just read this about Chorlton Row - so it might just exclude it

Most of the early cemeteries, including Chorlton Row Cemetery (Manchester) set up in 1821 and Low Hill Cemetery (Liverpool) in 1825 were established by Nonconformists. These early cemeteries tended to be located in urban centres with fast-rising populations. They were funded by joint-stock companies, whereby shareholders received an annual
dividend and philanthropists and Nonconformists could play a part. The joint-stock cemetery companies were constituted under individual Acts of Parliament.

Yes you are correct the records can be viewed at the library

You do know that St. Wilfrid's Church had a small graveyard behind the main building and as far as I know it is still there.    The church of course (opened in 1842) is no longer used for religious service.
I assume that the burial records will be held by the Salford Diocese.  I went to the primary school attached to the church.

Just a note for you all that Ardwick Cemetery: burial registers, 1838-1950 will be on line late 2012 early 2013 as will be a number of other Manchester reords ( i have the list ).
Just befor you all chear, they will be on one of the paid gynecological sites.
They will be free to all Manchester folk at the library

Yes it is possible for a church burial at that time

Don't know which are Catholic though
