Hi Anne,
Ada is my great aunt, sister of my grand father George Stevens. My father is Robert Nelson Stevens. My sister, Kathleen, remembers Ada being so proud of herself, still in her late 80's, catching the city bus from Vancouver to Surrey BC to visit her.
My wife, Wendy, is also the family history nut (to say the least). I have given my great nephew a bible signed by Lucy Jacka in the 1880's, that I had received from my father. There was an inscription by Lucy to George wishing him luck on his journey upon leaving St Erth for New York in 1895. We live in Victoria and either have or can get any BMD doc's from the BC Archives. Many of them are available to download directly into your computer. We have downloaded quite a few BMD's and if you let us know what you want we can send them by email. We have access cards for the BC Archives and the University of Victoria newspaper microfilm library.
Are you the Anne in Hampshire England that my wife has spoken to on Ancestry??
Dave Stevens

Hi Dave :)
Yes, I am the Anne that your wife Wendy has met on Ancestry...........'tis a small world ;)
My Great Grandfather was Thomas Henry Stevens (b.1880) who was the brother of Ada Mary and your Grandfather George.
How lucky are you to have such wonderful treasures and memories to pass on! :)
My Grandmother Carrie was one of thirteen children born to Thomas and his wife Eveline Jane Rogers.
It was only when I started my research that I discovered all these long lost relatives as I honestly thought my Grandmother was an only child as I had never heard mention of or met any of them! :(
I've been busy of late so 'family treeing' has had to take a little break but any wonderful gems that you think I'd like to see would be wonderful.
Please say "Hi" to Wendy for me and tell her that I did check out Vancouver Island and Butchart Gardens and they are absolutely stunning.
Keep in touch, Anne :)

Hi 'Erato'
I've just had a quick look through the Rosewarnes on my family tree and can't see a link at the moment. My ancestor married a Rosewarne so I haven't really gone back with them. If anything appears I'll let you know :)
Do you have any connection to this family:

Devon 1871 RG10/2080/54/19
Olivia Rosewarne 32 married miner's wife Illogan Cornwall
Henry 17 Illogan
Jane 8 Illogan
John 4 Buck Fast leigh Devon
William 8 months Ashburton Devon

1881 RG11/5196/96/28
Thomas Rosswarren 41 married Cranborne Cornwall
John 14 Buckfastleigh Devon
William 10 Ashburton Devon
Albert E 8 Eskdale Cumberland
Olivia 6 Irton Cumberland

My connection is to John [Vincent] Rosewarne who emigrated to the United States [allegedly around 1882], married  Minnie Ethelda Logan in Wisconsin in 1892, had numerous children, and settled eventually in Seattle, Washington.  He was a Methodist minister and also seems to have had some marital strife.  He died in Los Angeles in 1944.
