Shoreditch address look up please

I have the birth cert for William George Besley( hope it should be Beasley) in 1868,father Thomas, mother Amanda, address 46 Huntingdon st Hoxton.I have tried 71 and 81 census's but family seems to have disappeared. Could someone please check the address for me in the 71 census to see who lives there. Thanks a lot.

This looks like her Birth Index entry - no wonder she couldnt be found in Middx!

A likely match in 1861 was born Surrey, Shere & has a Father John. G - the family are in Writtle Essex - altho there is a sibling born in Hoxton, so maybe a link.

Looking back at the 1851 - HO107/Piece: 1502 Folio: 286 Page: 25 - in Islington, the fathers middle name was George .... and someone else has researched the name:-

i've had a couple of my ancesters disappearing in that area for the 1871/1881 census... 1881 it was mis-spelt so was lucky to pick that one up....

Thanks Mort29,you are a star!I haven't got any of the info you've given me. My starting point was William George's marriage in 1895,he was my Grandfather and I have his origanal marriage cert. Without knowing it, I had gone back on the wrong line of Beasley's but you have put me back on track. On his marriage cert it shows his father as Thomas which is correct, His occupation is down as Iron safe maker,which was William's stepfathers occupation and I imagine William said that as he wouldn't have known his real father's occ, I have found Amanda Emmerton in the 1901 census widowed with three more of her children, I have William in the 1901 but couldn't find him in the 1891.She seemed to have prefered Amanda to Margaret,first marriage she was Amanda,second Marriage she was Margaret, then when widowed went back to Amanda again.
Funny lot our ancestors,weren't they?
You have given me Thomas's father now (Edward) so hopefully I will find him in the 51 census to get me back even further. Thanks once again Mort,really helped me out.

Pleasure Ken - you might want to try & get in touch with the Ancestry ID who made those notes (richardbazeley in 2007) ?

She seemed to have prefered Amanda to Margaret,first marriage she was Amanda,second Marriage she was Margaret, then when widowed went back to Amanda again.

           No,couldn't find the marriage at all,I went by the 81 census ( Margaret) and 1901 Amanda. perhaps they weren't married!

William is with the Emmertons in 1891 - RG12/Piece: 204 Folio 77 Page 63, using Emmerton rather than Beasley.

The Ancestry site has transcribed them as Emmerson, but the same ID (RichardBazeley) corrected it in 2009.
