Cecil Giggal was my father. He was the son of Victor Giggal and Nellie(?) Giggal nee Bailey. Her father was a JP in Sunderland

He had a sister Sylvia Crookes nee Giggal.

Cecil Giggal married my mother Muriel Elsie May Giggal nee Blackburn.
They married in 1948. My mothers parents were William Walter Blackburn  and his wife who had the surname of Stephens. They were married at West Derby Register Office in Liverpool. My Grandma died on the 11.11.61 or 62 in Blackpool. My Grandfather died in February or March five months later in a Hospital in Chester. He was an outpatient and suffered a heart attack whe visiting. This was three weeks after marrying.

Sylvia Giggal Married Joseph Crookes. They had two children Douglas Crookes and Gillian Crookes. Both Married Gillian married Keith Wesson in September 1974.

I am one of 5 survivinng children, We  are Leslie Giggal, Myself Ian Giggal, Sybil Ann Giggal (now Windsor) Peter Stephen Giggal, and Dianne Wells.

I am glad to note that some of the info I supplied was of use. Can you help me, did you  or any member of your family attend  a family wedding in Wakefield in or about 1960. I was about 8 9 or 10. I remember the reception at a Golf Club. I just cannot recall the name of the bride and groom, though "Bell" may be the name. I also remember visiting a cottage at Ryhill on a couple of occasions  I would have been younger then? I think they were cousins of Victor Pool Giggal.

I also had a holiday  in Sunderland, where I stayed for a couple of weeks at their house. Annother family was staying and they had a daughter who was about 7 years old so she would have been born in or about 1961? Are you related?

Yours Ian G
