Thank you for your reply. Your the first person who had another marriage for another Thomas Brereton in the same year to an Ellen. Mine was married to Ellen Whitmore, both were born in 1793. From a historical point all Breretons the world over are related by DNA, I doubt I can say blood really.
After doing some more research we think the parents of my Thomas b. 1793 were George Brereton and Mary Jackson who married in 1792. It is very possible that your Thomas and my Thomas were some sort of cousins since in the same similar area. You are very lucky to be able to get back to the early 1700s.
