Hi im looking for info on my great grandad Harry Robinson, born 1900 give or take, ive  been told that his family were from London, so im not sure where he was born. Im hoping to find a marriage to Miriam, possibly Davies, who was known as Molly. They had 3 sons Raymond, William and Robert, Robert was my grandad born in 1924. I believe they either lived in Elswick or Jesmond, Newcastle, as Harry and Molly are buried in Jesmond. Harry also had a sister. I know its not much to go on but all i can find are Roberts marriage and his death in July 1953 in Newcastle. Any help would be great, thanks Leslie

Hi leslie77,

Wlcome to Rootschat.

Zero birth registrations for Robert Robinson with mother's maiden name DAVIES in 1924
or first quarter of 1925.

There is only one for DAVIS, indexed by FREEBMD as Robert W Robinson Mar 1925 Newcastle T. 10b 255,
and it's in the right place   :) , so Robert possibly born very late 1924.

No luck finding a marriage for his parents. Maybe Harry stood for Henry or Harold. Acquiring a birth
cert for Robert or one of his brothers might clarify the parent's names.

yeah i think your right im stumped! We arnt really sure if it is Davies, i know they are buried in Jesmond together, apparantly with a large monument as Harrys family were quite wealthy, is there any way of looking through cemetary records maybe? I may be able to get some definate dates, i think it maybe the old cemetary

Well, from my earlier reply, it looks probable that Davis is more likely than Davies,
and that Robert was born Newcastle area.

I also found earlier, Raymond Robinson, mothers maiden name Davis,
Sep 1933 Middlesborough 9d 889, but didn't mention it, as Robert seemed a better
fit with what you believed to be the case.

Found a marriage for miriam telford to henry robinson in 1923 and births for william and raymond also a birth that just says male 1923?? possible it could be robert
