I was going to ask when John & Emma married as I have been trying to find John on the 1861 census but nothing yet.

Will have a look to see if I can find Mary Ann, Do you know Emma's maiden name just in case Mary was staying her grandparents

I think I have found  John on the 1851 census but can't be absolutely sure

Emma's maiden name is possible TAYLOR, but I'm not too sure about that.

Hi, Ron61

To connect with your request from Monday, I have a MARY ANN BURTON marrying FREDERICK GOODWIN at Worcester in Sept qtr. 1879, Worcester 6c 329. I think that Frederick's parents were David & Mary Ann . He was bap. at ?Alwarton, on  26 Jan. 1854. At present, cannot find any children of this marriage in 1891 census. Do you have any further infro re. where they were living at that time.

Hi RobPhill. Thank you for your interest. I have Frederick born in Hemingford Grey at the beginning of 1851, same marriage details as you have, and living in Hollands Yard, Worcester All Saints in 1881. Therafter - absolutely nothing. It's as though they just disappeared.

RobPhill.

Don't think you have the same Frederick as I have.
Mine was born 1851 Hemingford Grey.
The one you have seems to be the son of David GOODWIN & Mary Ann BEAVIS (marriage 4th Qtr 1853 Peterbro' 3b 563), Frederick born 1st Qtr 1854 Peterbro' 3b 182. Alwalton is in Peterbro' registration district.
Thanks and regards
Ron

Hello Ron,

Sorry but didn’t manage to get back online last evening.

From the 1881 census you mention, is this the Mary Ann BURTON you are referring too

1881c Hollands Yard Worcester All Saints
Frederick GOODWIN  1852 Gen Labourer St. Ives Huntingdon
Mary Ann GOODWIN 1859 Housekeeper All Saints Worcestershire

This could be her on the 1871 census with her grandparents

1871c
RG101/3048/15/24
20 Church Walk St Clement Worcester

Joseph BURTON Head 1813 Worcestershire Wheelwright
Sarah wife 1812 All Saints Worcester (Invalid)
Walter HARRIS son in law 1846 Droitwich Striker
Martha dau. 1847 All Saints
MARY ANN BURTON Grandaughter 1860 All Saints Worcestershire
Annie BAKER granddaughter 1870 Worcestershire

Not with her grandparents on 1861 - can't place Mary Ann at the moment
but here's Joseph & Sarah through to 1841 census

1861c Diglis Gardens St. Peter Worcester
RG09/2095/18/48
BURTON transcribed as BARTON
Joseph 1802 Wheelwright
Sarah 1840 Gloveress
Henry 1845 Labourer
Martha 1847 Gloveress
Wm 1849
All born Worcestershire

1851c

Joseph 1809 Wheelwright
Sarah 1808
Sarah 1840
Eliza 1841
Henry 1844
Ann 1845
Martha 1846
Joseph 1843
All born Worcestershire

1841c Doldy, All Saints Worcester
HO107/1209/2/9/14
BURTON
Joseph 1816 Wheelwright
Sarah 1816
Sarah 1840
Eliza (3 months) 1841
All born Worcestershire

Will get back to you if I come across anything else

The only other way to find out who Mary Ann BURTON's parents is by obtaining her birth certificate or the marriage certificate to Frederick GOODWIN but that would only give you her father's name
