Hi Cando,

Thank you, I wonder if this is Renke's brother Herman.

Seems like hotels were in their blood. In 1943 there is a Frederick Renke Luks living with a Grace Kinear Luks in Conapaira Hotel in Rankins Springs, NSW. He is listed as hotel keeper.

Hi Katrina

The only other piece of information I remember is that the Luks girls used to return to Germany for finishing school, but that this was interrupted by the World War (One, I guess).

Regards,
Terry.

Hi again Katrina

Have you tried search Papers Past (http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/) for 'Luks'?

It brings up about ten entries.

I hope this helps,
Terry.

Just curious about the post that the luks girls would go to Germany to finishing school. Joanna luks born 1844 was my 2nd great grandmother the Luks brothers mentioned in this post are her brothers. I have no idea when she got to new zealand but I know she was there by 1871 as she was married then. Does anyone have a ny information about her ?
