Thomas Barry, Elizabeth Barry and Ellen Barry

Hi,

I'm seeking information about Thomas Barry of Ireland (possibly County Cork).  Thomas Barry was the father of Elizabeth Barry, who was born in Ireland in 1817.  Elizabeth travelled to Australia aboard the ship, the 'Mary Nixon', from Cork; and disembarked at Port Phillip.  Ellen Barry -whom I believe to be Elizabeth's sister-was also on board; as was Jerimiah Holley (sic - Holy) whom Elizabeth later married.

I am eager to find some information about Thomas Barry, my third great grandfather. I would particularly appreciate the name of Elizabeth's mother.

I too am interested in this name Thomas Barry, Very famous too I think. Anthing to do with the Barry name in the Cork area. If I get anything I will let you know, Sorry I am not much help right no I have just started with this.

It appears that your Elizabeth Barry and Jeremiah Holy marriage appears on the New South Wales Register for the year 1843 - Reg#V18432339 93/1843, District LR.

Hi Janet,
 This Ellen Barry is my Gt Gt Grand-mother, she wed Bartholomew Ryan on the 25th February 1845 at St Francis Catholic Church Melbourne.
Ellen died at Rochester VIC 18th June 1908 aged 85yrs.
She is buried in the Catholic section of the Rochester Cemetery however Bartholomew isn't buried with her.

Would love any information on Bartholomew, he may have started using Thomas as his first name latter in his marriage to Ellen.
Thomas Barry father of Ellen & Elizabeth is also my 3rd Gt Grandfather Harkel 25.

I have just found your posting about Thomas Barry. My grandfather is Lachlan Holy who Elizabeth Barry is his grand mother. I don't much at all. But all the information matches the information I have about her.
