No problem.  I do the Burns Monument Centre in Kilmarnock doesn't have burial records but the bereavement services in Western Road might have a record.  Their email is:-

bereavementservices[at]east-ayrshire.gov.uk (replace [at] with @)

All the best with the searching

Thanks Gibbied,

I contacted the bereavement Services a while ago for the Sorn Records, they don't have them.

It was them who suggested I contact the Church directly.

Thanks anyway,

South Ayrshire Council will do a search of the burial records for you. Even if there is no headstone they will have a record of the burial. Contact Ayr town hall. If I remember corectly it cost £15.

Thanks Ross,

Do South Ayrshire have reccords for East Ayrshire?  I'm curious as North Ayrshire Local History couldn't help me.  :-\

Thanks

Sorry, Had a bit of a senior moment there. Of Course Sorn is in East Ayrshire, So it would be East Ayrshire Council in kilmarnock you would need to contact.

Thanks for the link Boab... great useful website.  Sadly it is an unmarked grave I am trying to find and this is not listed on this site.

Still can't find who holds the burial records.

Hi Hanan,

Try the Burns Monument Centre:-

Burns Monument Centre
Telephone: 01563 576695
Email: info@burnsmonumentcentre.com

They might be able to direct you to the people who hold the burial records.
