Hi My Great Uncle George A Robinson born 1913 Woolwich Kent Moved to Bridewell Drive Carrickfergus County Antrim late 1970s I belive he may have stayed with his brother Leslie, as there are a few Robinsons in Carrickfergus is this where the Robinson name comes from. I know this is a long shot maybe he found new members of the family there. where would it be the best place for BMDs for this area I do know that my 3rd great grandfather Verner Robinson born 1819 came from Charlemont County Armagh.
Thanks for your Help.

Did your uncle have any family (wife, children, etc.) that would remember any details about the County Antrim connection?

The latest available Irish census is 1911 (online along with 1901)- Robinson's a very common Antrim surname and there are quite a few living in Carrickfergus in 1911- see here

Perhaps it would be a good idea to find details of George's father or grandfather to see if either was born in Ireland and then try to find the Irish relations.

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
