Tiverton Baptisms 1805 - 1815 - DARCH
« on: Monday 23 May 11 09:04 BST (UK) »
Could anybody possibly look up the baptism records of Richard Darch, Mark Mayo Darch,Miriam Darch - children of John Darch and Mary Mayo from sampford Peverell who moved to Southwark London in the early 1800,s    -   Miriam is found in Southwark in the 1841,51 and 61 census's with 1851 showing her birthplace as Tiverton. They have earlier siblings from SP but we cannot find these 3 baptisms. Mark died in 1840 in Southwark, Richard went bankrupt several times but we know he was alive from 1841 - 1846, Maria his wife is found in 1851 and 1861 as married but with no record of Richard being found - she wasnt shewn as widowed!
Many thanks

Richard Darch 08-Mar 1827 to John and Mary. John is a servant and Tiverton is given as the nearest town.

Thanks.  Dick and I are working together on this one and unfortunately we have all the family apart from these 3 baptisms. It was only the recent find where Miriam (Mariam in 1851) filled in her own census return in 1851 that enabled us to believe that all 3 will probably have been born in Tiverton and as yet I dont think there are any online options for this town

Hi Mike,

I forgot to welcome you to Rootschat, thanks for letting me know about your connection to Dick, I am a descendant of the Glover family of Martock, through Robert and Hannah Glover and their great grandson John Glover who went to New Zealand.  I have emailed Dick to see if he would be interested in the New Zealand connection, good luck in finding your information.
