Hi,
have been trying for some time to identify the older man on the left in this picture. He was the owner/ manager of the Heneage Fisheries, Heneage Road, Grimsby, in approximately 1930. The person in the centre is my wife's father, Thomas Ladds (1908-2001) and it is thought that the man in question may have been his 'step father' although there is no record of a marriage that we can find.
An identifying feature is that he is missing his left arm, but little more is known than that. If anyone recognises him, or can suggest any other methods of establishing his identification we would be much obliged.

hi mike can you tell us where thomas ladds was born as i,ve tried to find him in a census but so far without any luck .

have you tried street directories ?

He was born Thomas William L Revill, in Grimsby.

Hi Trevor,

His parents were Frederick Ladds (1860-1916) and Mary Ann Revell, (1868-1942) although there's no evidence that they ever married. Both were born in Boston, Lincolnshire.

have you looked to see who was at the address in the street directories in the 1930's?
or even on the electoral roles?
