Would some please date this Family Group?

Think it is probably Ireland.

A cleanup would be appreciated as well.

many thanks.

Hi Palmira :)

I would guess at early-mid 1880s judging by what the ladies are wearing. Can't see much sign of the bustle which was introduced in the mid-80s.

The man's whiskers are rather extraordinary  :o ;D

If you have the photo could you show us the whole thing please, including the card at the front, and the back of it too.

Cheers
Prue

Prue,

My cousin in Sydney who "found" the Bingham Family image says that on the bottom edge it has "AYTON"  and "DERRY".

Hope this helps you to date it further.

The mid 1880s fits the known ages of the two children very well.

Many thanks again.

Prue,

My cousin in Sydney who "found" the Bingham Family image says that on the bottom edge it has "AYTON"  and "DERRY".

Ayton's studio was operating in Shipquay Place, Londonderry by 1884, which would appear to reinforce your date range and Irish location speculations.

**Edit**:
Further investigation reveals that Ayton opened his first studio in Londonderry in 1859.
