My 3xgreat grandfather Robert Edward Craine obtained his License in Midwifery in 1834 in Dublin and was, at some point, a 'Demonstrator of Anatomy' in Lower Camden Street, Dublin. The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland suggest that this prob refers to a private medical school of anatomy run by an individual surgeon. Is there any way I can find out any more detail about who or what this might have been ie via street directories of the time? and where might I gain access to these?
He married Eleanor Isabella Kelly on 1st Jan 1836 in St Peter's Church, Dublin - both are said to have been living at Camden Street. Any further info on Eleanor would be wonderful. I think she was born around 1812, in Ireland but after their marriage they returned to Robert Edward's home in the Isle of Man.
Any grain of info would be great. Thanks.
