Hi,
According to the website www.brsgenealogy.com which has the parish records for this time, there were only 2 Thomas Dorans baptised in Kilcullen around 1881. One had father Thomas and was baptised in 1883, and the other had father Peter and was born in 1884.
The Thomas Doran who was born in 1884 lived in Milemill close to Gilltown. Milemill was in the DED of Gilltown when the censuses were taken in 1901 and 1911. His parents were Peter Doran and Margaret Bernie. Is this the Thomas Doran you are interested in?

have you tried civil records ?

see : Introduction to Irish Records

As jud72  mentioned his father's name and occupation would be useful to try to locate the correct family on the 1901 census and also help you confirm, or rule out, any possible birth certs or baptisms.

The townland of Gilltown is in the civil registration district of Naas and there are two possible birth matches (both recorded without a middle name) in the right district at around the right time - probably civil birth records for the same baptisms that jud72 mentioned :

 Name: Thomas Doran
 Registration district: Naas
 Event type: Birth
 Quarter and year: Apr-Jun 1883
 Volume : 2 / Page : 852

 Name: Thomas Doran
 Registration district: Naas
 Event type: Birth
 Quarter and year: Jan-Mar 1884
 Volume : 2 / Page: 831

A civil cert would generally give a bit more detail than a baptism .

The census for 1901 shows 2 Thomas Dorans aged 17, one in Milemill and one in Grangemore. As these places are only yards apart, and having some knowledge of the area, I think it is quite likely that these were cousins. Tracing one family might have the effect of tracing both.

Hi

Thomas Doran from Milemill,Gilltown was buried in NewAbbey near Gilltown on 6th Oct 1931 aged 47.
His father Peter and mother Margaret Beirnie. They are all buried in a double grave at NewAbbey which I recently restored.
The family owned the shop and pub at Milemill.
Peter (born 1839, died 1907) is my great great grandfather.
I have details of his father Pat (b.1783) and grandfather Peter (b.1756). Let me know if this is the same Doran family and I will forward you my 26 page Doran Family Tree.............regards........Tony Redmond
