Wow, I am amazed at all the new information regarding the Watson family. Unfortunately there is no more news on my grandmother Enid Lavinia Julia Watson married name Gilmore.  She was the daughter of Joseph Watson the eloper and sister of Dorothy, Joseph and Cyril. Enid and her future husband  John William Gilmore went to  Canada  to stay with her father Joseph and his wife Alice for  a while and had a child called Roy Edmund Gilmore. I did notice in one of the wonderful photographs there is a picture of Enid  as a child with her mother and brother Joseph and sister Dorothy which is lovely as I only have one photograph of her.

Will have a search for his Commonwealth War Grave tomorrow.
b.
Just realised he was born 1899 so he must have entered the war either under age or only just 17/18 years of age, may make it easier to find his death or grave etc..

I have searched the Commonwealth War Graves database for Harold Watson. The Commonwealth War Graves have 13 Harold Watson's who died in WW1 and from this list I have narrowed down 2 possible deaths against the ages, places of birth and whose details don't have any family members names listed.

This one is a good contender, although this would make him only 16/17 yrs of age:

UK, Soldiers Died in the Great War, 1914-1919 about Harold Watson
Name:   Harold Watson
Death Date:   25 Sep 1916
Death Place:   France and Flanders
Enlistment Place:   Hull
Rank: Private
Regiment:   King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry
Battalion:   10th Battalion
Regimental Number: 34803
Type of Casualty: Killed in action
Theatre of War:   Western European Theatre
Comments: Formerly 3945, E. Yorks Regt

Commonwealth War Graves:
Rank:Private
Service No:34803
Date of Death:25/09/1916
Regiment/Service:King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry 10th Bn.
Panel Reference: Pier and Face 11 C and 12 A.
Memorial:THIEPVAL MEMORIAL  (France)
NO family members names on this entry

And the other possible entry without family members names, although this date would make "our" Harold only 15/16 yrs of age:

UK, Soldiers Died in the Great War, 1914-1919 about Harold Watson
Name:   Harold Watson
Residence:   Islington
Death Date:   18 Aug 1915
Death Place:   Gallipoli
Enlistment Place:   London
Rank:   Rifleman
Regiment:   London Regiment
Battalion:   11th (County of London) Battalion (Finsbury Rifles)
Regimental Number:   3342
Type of Casualty:   Killed in action
Theatre of War:   Balkan Theatre

Commonwealth War Grave:
Rank: Rifleman
Service No: 3342
Date of Death: 18/08/1915
Regiment/Service:London Regiment (Finsbury Rifles) 11th Bn.
Panel Reference: Panel 197 and 198.
Memorial: HELLES MEMORIAL  (Turkey)
No family members names on this entry

I cannot find any Service Records for these entries so most likely they were destroyed in the WW2 bombings.

The first Harold Watson killed Sept. 25th 1916 was Harold R. Watson son of Mrs. M. E. Watson of Brantingham..he was in his 22nd year...according to FindMyPast newspaper report.

Hope this helps.
