Parish Registers to Read Online

Cherry Burton    http://www.archive.org/stream/registersofparis15cher#page/n5/mode/2up

Kirk Ella    http://www.archive.org/stream/registerofkirkel11kirk#page/n5/mode/2up

there are lots of Watson listed - but NO Watson listed that are mentioned in this thread..... the following may explain why...

"""in brief from preface of above book... the parish of Kirk Ella upto 1878 covered an area of 7 miles long x 4.5 miles wide. Its boundaries included what is now known as a large part of Newington Parish of Hull, the whole of what is now known as the civil parish of Kirk Ella and all that of Willerby (except the detached portion of Cottingham), a small part of West Ella, about half of Anlaby, besides a detached part of Kirk Ella in Swanland. The parish of Hessle claims the other half of Anlaby: and that of North Ferriby the greater portion of Swanland and of West Ella"""

Is seems it could be a headache finding entries for folk ???   at least one knows where to look elsewhere.

Wolfreton, Willerby, West Ella, Anlaby all come under Kirk Ella

Swanland, Anlaby, Dairy Coates, Braffords (Swanland) all come under North Ferriby    http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ERY/Northferriby/index.html

Willerby, Spring Head, Raywell, Newland, Hull Bank, Dunswell all come under Cottingham

Hi cpncpn

So this is Enid .... ;D  Do you know roughly how old she was here.
I wonder what her sister Dorothy looked like then??? I am hoping that I may have found
a living rellie of Dorothy, her Granddaughter, just hoping it becomes fruitful.

Not heard from Canadian, maybe they are on hols, will let you know when I do.

I have been given contact details of a possible living granddaughter to Dorothy Ethel Watson sister to Enid Watson.
I will reply back on this thread when I know further details if she is indeed related to this Dorothy.

Hi there. I've found this thread very interesting, especially since Joseph Watson the eloper is my 1st cousin three times removed. His aunt Sarah was my great great grandmother. It's a small world.....

Hi Pankpop
Thanks for that snippet of info, tis really an interesting story, have you followed the info with the other links too??

When you say "aunt" which side, maternal or paternal line?? If you would like to add any info, please feel free to do so.

Now, would you like to be aquainted with these living rellies?? if so, let me know.

Joseph's paternal aunt, Sarah Watson (b. 1826), daughter of Joseph b. 1785, was my gg grandmother. She married George Henry Wilson and they were, in fact, the "visitors" at Kirk Ella Grange in the 1851 census with their first son, James.

I can now confirm that the "E" in Dorothy E Watson marriage to Fawcett Pudsey is in fact E for Ethel.

I am in contact with the granddaughter of Dorothy Ethel Watson but any details will remain confidential at
this time.
