Unfortunately, the son born from the 2nd marriage died in 1999 in the UK, just a few years before I unearthed the whole story. Its still unclear whether he had any children

Do you know what his name was, I could do a bit of digging?

Corisande,

I haven't been back here in ages; didn't realise you'd posted this.

The son from the 2nd marriage was John Joseph Redmond, b. 26/05/1920
He died in Leicester, England on 24/04/1999.

If you could dig up anything that would be great.

not much detail available on Frankfort cottages - they consisted of 11 houses off Killarney Street (between numbers 8 and 9), which in turn seems to be the continuation of Gloucester Street Lower.

My guess is somewhere around here (see the 25" map)

here's a (slightly blurry) google street view of the modern street sign for the cottages

The cottages are mentioned in Thom's 1914 and 1927, but no details are given

Shane

i have tried to upload a photo of the spot where the cottages once stood but had problems...if you can see the triangle shape area to the left of where you marked, this i believe is the exact location for them.
this area can only be acessed from killarney st (5 lamps end)as the access from amiens st is now gated off.
