A little help with a short will from 1588

In the Name of god amen the 4 day of November 1588 I William Dodding of Skelsmergh sick in my body yet never the less whole
of mind and of perfect of remembrance thanks be unto god make this my Last will and Testament in manner & form following
first I give & Bequeath my soul unto almighty god my maker & Redeemer through whose death I Trust to be saved  __ and
my Body to Be Buried where it please the church to have it  Dues Right for the same.  Item I will that Marion
my wife shall have all my Tenements during her widow head according to Custom of the Country.  Item I give the title
and tenant right of my tenement after [the] widow head of my wife To John my son …..  and if my Wife Die or Marry be
fore my youngest son William B………. year old that John shall bring the said William up three years.  Also when John
Chambers will not make whole year or ____ for him Then the year to stand beyond the ____  where it was ____  do
Executrix of this my said will I [make] Marion my Wife.  Supervisors here of I make Christopher Sprote and Gilbert Gilpin
desiring them for gods sake [to see] my will performed and I give them for their pains taking either of them two

first word "saved."  Next little bit I'm trying to put into context.  Wondering, even though it looks like it could be a "y", whether the dash in the tail and the blot in the main part could indicate a "p[er], p[ar] or p[or]" brevigraph.

Next spot,"buried where it please the church to have it."

I also think "yeat" is "yeare."  If John Chambars will not make hol yeare or (C... probably care or something of similar meaning) for hym...

Thanks, silvervista.  I thought it might be saved, but it looks like it has p[er]e after it.

Year makes more sense than yeat--though the last letter looks more like a 't' than an 'r'.  (But the handwriting is pretty terrible!)

I try to avoid blaming scribes for what I don't understand, but sometimes you just gotta wonder about them!     Usually, persevering at looking for meaning with a letter-by-letter transcription yields something.  But in context, this will is asking someone to take responsibility for his child if the mother should die or remarry before the child is a certain age, and saying that if John Chambars should fail to perform by reason of death or by negligence of duty, then the support money is still due the child even if it is not received in a timely manner.


AHH-HAAA!! Right in the middle of that ramble, it came to me.... "Saved pure!"
