Also, this site: http://ifhf.rootsireland.ie/search.php lists Church Baptism records for a Jane Masaroon in Derry in 1722 and a John Masaroon in 1724.  Obviously, these are brother and sister.  But I can't see the record - I have to pay money to get 50 credits to see and I'm not that desparate yet.  Can anyone else get access to those records?  I was thinking that the timing would be right for this John Masaroon to be the father of the William, Edward and James Masaroon brothers.

Hello

Sorry to join this discussion very late, but I've only recently caught up with it.  Regarding the last post, Jane and john Masaroon were baptised at St Columb's C of I Cathedral, Derry on 13 Jan 1722 and 4 Mar 1724 respectively.  Parents' names are given as John and Ann.  I'm interested in the notion that John could be the father of William, James and Edward and William in turn was the father of Robert and James.  My interest in the Masaroons is that the Rev Robert Masaroon was the second husband of my 3 x great grandmother Olivia Wolfenden, nee Gayer.  As my 2 x great grandmother, Charlotte Mathews, nee Wolfenden was only about 1 or 2 years old when Olivia and Robert married, he was to all intents and purposes her father.
