Hi Caroline,

Thought that football result would get you excited ;D

Ian
As we are on the "other side of the world" I can't get too excited about Manchester United but being an "ethnic pom" I know how you feel, Caroline.

Excited, over the moon, thrilled to bits etc etc!   ;D ;D Without doubt, the best club in the World!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for that Neil, very useful.

Also, one of the resizing programs used on this board has a built in sharpen feature, that needs to be deactiviated before resizing which may have been the program Hilary used...not sure.  Can't think of the name at the moment, but I've seen this oversharpened edge (visible on the original when zoomed in) effect occur when this feature has been used by other postees.  It's a bit of a nightmare really when restoring.

Well, we're champions (premiers) of the league, and  I'm quite content with that cos of course we beat Chelsea  ;D ;D  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D to the title, so if we win on the 28th it's a bonus, if we lose, I'm still happy!!!  ;D ;D

Poor Hilary, she must think we're all football mad!! Probably not far from it!!  ;D ;D ;D

No Caroline, I don't think you're football mad. My Dad gets up in the middle of the night so that he can watch the English and European football on TV. He's a pomm so I understand fully! We Aussies go crazy over our AFL football as well. "C'arn the Pies" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hippy's photo is great but I would suggest that the Marine's beret be coloured blue or,if a commando, green.

Hi Hilary

I should point out that I'm an ex-pat pom living in Brisbane, and I too stay up to the wee hours to watch the EPL, so I would get on very well with your dad!  ;D

Regards

Most probably the original would have been scanned by an all in one scanner copier printer which produces this kind of fluffy over sharp scan, see this link for more of an explanation.

Hi,
Yes I did use an all in one scanner and after reading the link you added I can now see how this makes it much more difficult to restore a scanned picture from this type of scanner. I will take this photo to work where I have a stand alone scanner and scan it there. Hopefully the results will be much
