Laverty's of Rathmullan

I am looking for anything at all on the Name O' Laverty in relation to Rathmullan My Grandfather was a John Joseph O'Laverty (RC) born around 1878> onward..
He was an iron rivetter shipbuilder by trade and sailed into Southampton where he worked. I know his Names rough DOB and I amazingly have a Photograph.
John Joseph was named on my father's Birth Certificate but thats all I have for his Son who was born in 1918. His hair was Auburn and typically Irish to look at.

My Father was named Joseph Daniel .. The Laverty's from Ballynewport had John Joseph's and this is Donegal area where we were told he was from..

So am looking at this viewpoint from the Names and Area..

It was nice of you to contact me and yes I did write to someone back 18 months ago and have been on a number of websites..Never been to Western Ireland in My life but Plan to someday when I have more information..
My Grandfather was from Donegal that's all I know which is second hand info from Dad when he was alive My FatherDanny Boy! was born in Southampton as was I..my name was Dawn Regina O'Laverty before I married.
Dad looked typically Irish to look at as was his Father John Joseph O'Laverty Anglesized name... He was RC as far as I know have very little to go really although names are important and that he was born around 1870-80's..
He a seaman or builder of ships I have citation on Dads Birth certificate..
My Dad was born in 1918 August. Daniel Joseph O'Laverty. There would be no mistaking his family links from the look of him.. I can load some Pictures.. I do have one of JJ.
The Titanic sunk in 1912 so he may well have been around just after she sailed into Southampton.
I found the family names regarding Rathmullan as the names and dates fitted.
 Sorry am not familiar with the areas and typographgy have looked at Co Down as well.. as its close to Belfast and the shipping area and Titanic building of Harland and wolff.. My Dad Mother was from a Shipping family as was most of the people from Southampton back then..
I live opposite St Mary's Church where the service was held for the losses on the Titanic..
Any help to find my family would be great for me as I have one daughter and Son and want them to know the  Irish connections to which I am fond..

My great Grandmother was Lavery and she was born 1871 in the townland of Rathmullan. Since doing research I have found that Lavery and O Laverty are two different families in the area. Sometimes the "O" can be  missing and it can be spelt Lavery/Laverty.
Do you have the name of  John Joseph O Lavertys wife. Also , do you know when he arrived in Southampton.
